“Someone who is zealous devotes numerous hours of time and energy into something they believe in” – zealousdecor
Who are they?
Emily and Dennis are the masterminds behind zealousdecor where they design and craft beautiful home decor made of wood. The couple met when they were in university studying Interior Design and Architecture, now they are taking their creativity to new levels. Emily was brought up in Winnipeg, while Dennis is from Southern Manitoba which explains their love for creating designs based on Prairie landscapes and nature.
The two use a variety of techniques to create the final product which includes photography, sketching, and 3d modeling. Each product is laser-cut, stained and quality ensured by them. This time-consuming and rigorous process is what makes their modern designs all the more impressive.
Their goal is to create products that become more than just an aesthetic, but rather conversation pieces. Zealousdecor also offers custom designs if you are looking for a totally unique design.
“The zealous initiative is our way of giving back to the Manitoba landscape which we call home, and has inspired the designs for many of our products in order to create a full sustainable product lifecycle.” – zealousdecor
The pair have partnered up with the Manitoba Forestry Association offering a way to give back. For every Bur Oak Wall Art sold, they will be donating to have 1 tree planted in Manitoba. In September 2019, they had the chance to help plant trees as part of National Tree Day. Since starting the Initiative they have helped plant over 230 trees! They have also teamed up with the Lake Winnipeg Foudation, donating 20% of all proceeeds from their Lake Coaster set sold.
