An evening of glitz and glamour in support of the Andrew Henderson Memorial Scholarship. In 2016, Andrew Henderson—a former LFG staff member and strong supporter of the Friends of Lower Fort Garry—passed away after a three-year struggle with cancer. It is safe to say Andrew had an incredible impact on those who knew him. Make your own authentic beer at Lower Fort Garry. Come gather around the campfire as professional brewmaster Ben Benton guides you through the step-by-step process of making your own beer. Throughout the evening, hear about alcohol production and consumption in England and North American in the 18th century, and Lower Fort Garry's role as the first brewery in Western Canada. Harvest Fest 2019

On Saturday, August 17th, join us for a unique, day-long (noon to 8:00 PM) event at Lower Fort Garry National Historic site. Inside the historic fort, Harvest Fest will provide visitors with the opportunity to watch and participate in a variety of workshops, supplementary historic activities, and learn how early settlers and local Cree and Ojibway people prepared for winter in the 19th century.
